Sixty-seven cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Somalia within the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health confirmed.
According to a health ministry update on August 31, the cases were from 1,124 samples tested.
Puntland led the latest cases with 33. Somaliland came in second with 15 followed by Banadir and Jubaland with 14 and 5 cases respectively.
The number of fatalities has now reached 977 after eight more people died.
Recoveries increased to 8,531 after 71 more people recovered from the deadly disease.
Somalia has seen the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths increase in the last few months.
