76 Al-Shabaab Militants Surrendered to Government in the Last Three Months in Somalia

Around 76 Al-Shabaab militants surrendered to government troops in the last three months in different parts of Somalia.

Brigadier General Mohamed Tahlil Bihi provided this update on February 28 while addressing the media.

According to Brig. Gen. Bihi, the militants surrendered themselves to the Somali National Army (SNA) and other security agencies in December, January, and February.

During his address to the media, Brig. Gen. Bihi claimed that the surrenders took place mostly in central and south Somalia.

He was speaking while addressing government soldiers who recently returned to Somalia from Turkey where they had been attending special training.
