Eight people were injured when Al-Shabaab fighters attacked a passenger bus in Mandera County on Tuesday.
The 58-seater bus was traveling to Mandera from Nairobi when the attack occurred.
Joshua Kitakwa, Mandera County’s Deputy Commissioner, confirmed the incident to reporters in the northeastern county.
A report by Kenya’s Daily Nation shows that the attack took place near Daba town in Mandera County.
Kitakwa stated that the bus came under heavy gunfire in the town. Afterward, eight people were rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention for their injuries.
