The Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) program has played a significant role in helping Somali migrants stranded in North Africa return home in 2024.
A total of 844 migrants were successfully repatriated under this initiative, supported by the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
This effort highlights the collaboration between these organizations and Somalia to address migration challenges and provide assistance to vulnerable individuals seeking to rebuild their lives.
