The Ministry of Health reported the latest COVID-19 cases in Somalia. In its updates, the ministry confirmed 96 new cases of the pandemic from tests conducted in various parts of the country.
On September 4, the health ministry stated that Somaliland led with 31 cases. Puntland and Banadir had 27 and 21 cases respectively.
Galmudug had 13 and Jubaland 3.
According to the Saturday update, the new cases were from 1,943 tests that health officials tested in the last 48 hours.
With five new deaths, the toll of fatalities is now only three short of 1,000.
Meanwhile, the 59 patients who recovered from the disease have now pushed the number of recoveries to 8,663.
The number of people diagnosed with the deadly disease since the first case was reported in March 2020 now stands at 17,726.
