Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali State Minister of Defense, MP Omar Ali Abdi, welcomed a high-level delegation led by Djibouti’s Defense Minister, Hassan Omar Mohamed, at Aden Adde International Airport today.
The Djiboutian Defense Minister traveled to the capital to attend the 35th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of Defense and Security of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF).
Somalia is hosting this important regional event, bringing together defense leaders from across East Africa to discuss security challenges and strategic cooperation.
The presence of the Djiboutian delegation underscores the significance of the summit, which provides a key opportunity for member states to coordinate on the 2026 operational roadmap and assess the regional security environment.
The airport reception demonstrates the strong relationship between Somalia and Djibouti, along with their mutual dedication to reinforcing the regional security framework.
The ministerial session concludes the meetings that have taken place in Mogadishu this week, following discussions by technical experts and Chiefs of Defense Staff.
