Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has urged the international community to respond to the emerging challenges of climate change fast.
The President stated that the international community cannot afford to be lackadaisical in the face of these growing challenges.
President Mohamud said this while addressing the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).
He addressed the conference on Friday.
His speech highlighted the sufferings of over 2.4 million people affected by the recent floods in Somalia.
He appealed for damage funds and climate finance from the international community.
