The Somali National Army (SNA) troops killed 27 Al-Shabaab militants in a raid carried out in Kismayo on Saturday.
Military personnel confirmed carrying out the operation on the western side of Kismayo.
According to military sources, the operation by the army in this part of Lower Jubba also caused the injuries of more than 36 militants.
The injured have been arrested.
It is not clear whether the military suffered any casualty.
