A 300km Road Project Launched in Ethiopia’s Somali Region

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched a 300km road project in Somali Region in Ethiopia during a ceremony that took place in Gode Town.

Several dignitaries attended the historic event.

They included Demeke Mekonnen, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, and Mustafa Oumer, the President of Somali Region.

Others were Shimelis Abdisa, the President of Oromia Regional State.

Prime Minister Abiy confirmed that the government had fully financed the project by setting aside a budget of 6 billion Birr.

The road project is part of several other projects that fall under the same budget.

Others include Yale-Dana Lot 3, Gode-Hargere Lot, and Gode-Kelofo Lot. The government expects to complete all these projects within the next four years.

The roads are crucial for connecting local communities, linking the surrounding markets, and transforming Gode Town into a development center.
