A Beledweyne market lies in ruins after being destroyed by a massive inferno.
Sources from the region indicated that the blaze occurred on Sunday night in the market located at Dervish Market.
Local officials added that the inferno spread fast through the market destroying tons of property.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the inferno.
Residents blame the destruction of property on the lack of firefighting equipment. They added that the authorities are yet to deliver fire extinguishers to the market.
Consequently, they had to rely on firefighting equipment from local commercial firms.
They also depended on water from nearby villages.
