A Somali-Canadian parliamentarian has been named the new Minister of International Development.
Ahmed Hussein, who has served as Member of Parliament (MP), steps into his new role following his appointment on July 26.
Hussein expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for making the appointment.
He described as an “honor” and expressed his desire to work for Canada effectively on the international stage.
