A Somali Police Force (SPF) officer was killed when improvised explosive devices (IED) in Shabellow village exploded on August 12.
Aweys Jama Matan, the police officer, was described as a hero.
He was in the village of Shabellow, which is in Mudug region, removing IEDs in the area when one of those exploded and killed him on the spot.
Terrorists in the region have planted dozens of deadly IEDs.
The Thursday incident is the latest in a series of IEDs that keep exploding and killing or maiming people and animals in different parts of Somalia.
