Zeinab Mohamed Warsame, the District Commissioner for Wardhigley, has been hospitalized after a security guard attacked and injured her.
The guard attacked DC Warsame at the office of the Mayor of Mogadishu on Friday.
Sources said the incident occurred as Warsame attempted to be the peacemaker in a fight between her security guards and those working at the Mayor’s office.
She was in Mogadishu to attend the first anniversary of a deadly explosion that injured her and killed six individuals, who included the then Mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman.
Among those killed were three directors and two district commissioners too.
Warsame is yet to provide more details on the extent of the injuries she suffered at the hands of the guards who beat her.
