The plane was en route to Baidoa when the crew identified a fault preventing the landing gear from deploying correctly.
The pilots promptly returned to Mogadishu, executing a successful emergency landing.
All 22 UN staff members on board were unharmed, with only one passenger sustaining a minor injury during the evacuation.
The swift and professional response of the crew and airport emergency services ensured the safety of all passengers and crew.
The Head of the UN Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), Assistant Secretary-General Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, commended the collaboration between UNSOS and the Somalia Civil Aviation Authority for their effective handling of the situation.
