Adam Abdelmoula has issued a warning about the impending famine in Somalia if rains fail again in April.
Abdelmoula was speaking in his capacity as the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
He also doubles as the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia.
As per Abdelmoula’s statement on March 29, Somalia has thus far endured three consecutive failed seasons.
The East African nation now expects to experience its next rainy season from April.
According to existing projections, the East African nation could experience below-average rainfall from next month.
