Abdirahman Abdishakur has launched the Minimum Response Package (MRP) as a drought response measure in Somalia.
Abdishakur launched MRP in his official role as the Special Envoy for Drought Response.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Abdishakur the Special Envoy for Drought Response late last month.
Abdishakur has since held meetings with different stakeholders seeking solutions for the ongoing drought.
He launched MRP on Thursday, June 16.
The United Kingdom government will fund the program through the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
Meanwhile, its implementation will be through the International Organization for Migration (IOM), World Food Programme (WFP), and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
