The leader of Somalia’s Wadajir Party, Abdirahman Abdishakur, visited Elite Hotel in Mogadishu on Thursday, August 20.
Abdishakur said the purpose of his visit was to commiserate with the staff and owner.
While at the hotel, he met with its owner, Abdullahi Mohamed Nur, who also serves as a Member of Parliament.
Abdishakur praised Nur for his brevity as a businessperson in the face of such challenges.
The opposition leader had tea with the hotel owner at the establishment’s balcony while discussing various important issues.
He commended the owner for opting to reopen the hotel and displaying resoluteness despite the recent attacks by Al-Shabaab extremists, which caused the deaths of dozens of people.
