Mahdi M. Gulaid, the Acting Prime Minister, held a meeting with the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Somalia, Nicolas Berlanga.
The two leaders held discussions that focused on various issues on September 6.
Prime Minister Gulaid welcomed Ambassador Berlanga to the Office of the Prime Minister in Mogadishu on Sunday.
One of the issues they discussed was the progress the East African nation is making socio-economically.
Secondly, the two leaders talked about Somalia’s pursuit of sustainable development and the steps it has to take to achieve that.
Gulaid expressed his gratitude and that of the government and people of Somalia for the “important contribution” that the EU continues to make to national development.
He said that the EU has remained one of Somalia’s most important partners.
