Cases of acute malnutrition continue to surge among children in Central Somalia.
According to the United Nations, the situation is made worse by the threat of famine that looms large over much of the country.
Most of the children experiencing acute malnutrition are victims of the ongoing drought and conflicts.
Drought and the raging conflicts have displaced them from their homes.
In early September, the UN warned that residents of two districts in central Somalia are already at risk of facing famine between October and December.
Petroc Wilton has already warned of a “dangerously deteriorating situation”.
Wilton is the Head of Communications at the World Food Programme (WFP) in Somalia.
