Mogadishu, Somalia – Togolese football legend Emmanuel Adebayor offered prayers for lasting peace in Somalia following an exhibition match held Tuesday at Mogadishu Stadium.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Adebayor expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received and highlighted the unifying power of sports.
“I’m truly honored to be here. The spirit and resilience of the Somali people are inspiring. I hope football continues to bring hope and unity to this beautiful nation,” said the former Togolese footballer.
The exhibition match, attended by thousands, is part of a broader push to promote peace and social cohesion through sports in Somalia.
