The United States African Command (AFRICOM) has confirmed that its forces conducted an airstrike against Al-Shabaab militants in Duduble, Somalia on February 22.
AFRICOM issued a statement dated February 23 on this matter.
In its statement, AFRICOM said that it carried out the operation in conjunction with Somali National Army (SNA) troops.
AFRICOM stated that it acted under the authority of the 2001 Authorization of the Use of Military Force.
As per AFRICOM’s statement on Wednesday, no civilian was either killed or injured in the attack.
AFRICOM indicated that it acted after its partner forces in Somalia came under heavy attack from the militants.
