Ahmed Yousuf Taran has been re-appointed the Chairman of the Supreme Court in the regional state of Puntland.
President Said Abdullahi Deni announced Taran’s re-appointment on Monday, July 4.
The Puntland leader had hoped that the regional parliament would approve Taran’s replacement at the Supreme Court.
However, parliamentary approval was not forthcoming.
Consequently, President Deni had no option but to re-appoint Taran to continue serving as the head of the Supreme Court.
