Aid Agencies in Somalia’s Southwest State Will Not Pay Registration Fees for One Year

Aid agencies operating in Somalia’s Southwest state will not pay registration years for one year.

Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, the President of Southwest state, announced this waiver through his office.

The waiver will kick off on October 29 and last for the next 12 months.

President Laftagareen’s administration believes that the waiver is crucial for facilitating the work agencies do in providing drought relief efforts.

Over the years, the federal and regional governments charge aid agencies registration fees.

International aid agencies have to pay $1,000 as their local counterparts have to part with $500 in registration fees.
