Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi was in Dubai to attend the Pre-Conference of the Parties (COP) meeting on behalf of the Somali government.
Al-Makhzoumi was at the Pre-COP28 meeting in her capacity as the Somali Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
She joined other climate change ministers and negotiators from all corners of the world at the Wednesday session.
The minister joined her colleagues in expressing unity of purpose on climate action.
Al-Makhzoumi added that Somalia’s presence at COP28 will offer it a chance to participate in discussions that help to identify sustainable climate change solutions for the country.
COP28 kicks off in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 30 to December 12.
