Al-Shabaab militants attacked a town that is close to the border between Somalia and Ethiopia.
Reports indicate that the militants attacked Aato town on the morning of Friday, July 29.
According to eyewitnesses and security sources, the Al-Shabaab fighters attacked the town by launching mortars first.
Afterward, they attacked Liyu Police Camp in the same town.
It’s not yet clear whether anyone was injured or killed in the attack that has once again left residents in shock.
The attack comes barely a week after the same militants launched a similar one in the region.
On July 20, Al-Shabaab militants attacked the same town before crossing the border into the Somali State in Ethiopia.
