Al-Shabaab claims that its fighters killed 137 soldiers serving under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Apparently, the militants killed the Ugandan soldiers serving under ATMIS in a daring attack on Friday.
They attacked a military base that the Ugandan contingent is in charge of in southern Somalia.
The base is in Bulo Marer, a Lower Shabelle town renowned for its prowess in agriculture.
Bulo Marer is roughly 110kms to Mogadishu’s south.
They detonated 4-6 explosions, which included improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
