Al-Shabaab has reported that the United States and Danab Forces carried out a military operation that killed eight civilians in Lower Shabelle.
According to media outlets that are sympathetic to the militia group, the deadly exercise took place in a mosque located in Mooyiloow, which is a short distance from Tooratoorow town.
The Al-Qaeda linked group said that the operation, which took place on Monday, saw the military murder several innocent civilians.
Two brothers were allegedly among the eight people killed.
However, the US Africa Command, Somali National Army (SNA), and the Danab Special Forces are yet to confirm the authenticity of Al-Shabaab’s claims.
