Al-Shabaab executed four of its fighters after accusing them of spying for the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
The four militants were executed publicly on August 22.
The Al-Qaeda linked group accused them of not only spying for Somalia but also for the intelligence agencies of Ethiopia and the United States.
A firing squad executed the four men on Saturday afternoon.
The extremists, who were executed in El-Adde as a huge crowd gathered to watch, were identified as Abdulaziz Hassan, Aden Hassan, Isse Osman, and Dini Abdulkadir.
El-Adde is one of Gedo region’s most strategic locations.
It is sadly associated with the mass killings of Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers serving as part of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on January 15, 2016.
