Somali National Army (SNA) troops, working closely with regional forces in the country’s Southwest State, conducted joint security operations against Al-Shabaab militants.
During Wednesday’s operations, which were carried out in Dinsor region, the forces killed two Al-Shabaab militants.
Abdisalam Haji, the Dinsor District Commissioner, confirmed the operation and the casualties involved.
While providing updates on the joint operation, Haji mentioned that Taliyow Maolim Ibrahim, who is the Regional Commander of Southwest State Forces, was injured.
The operation follows the recent attack via Improved Explosive Device (IED) in the area that killed five people as Eid-ul-Fitr festivities went on in Baidoa.
