Al-Shabaab militants claimed that they killed 10 Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) soldiers on November 3.
Sources revealed that the militants attacked the Kenyan military in Lamu County.
The attack took place on Wednesday near the Kenya-Somalia border.
Al-Shabaab has already claimed responsibility for the explosion that left 10 KDF soldiers dead and many others injured.
Kenyan security officials are yet to comment on the incident.
The militants have a history of conducting regular attacks against different target groups right inside Kenya.
