Recently, Al-Shabaab killed three men it accused of working with a few governments in the region. It found these men guilty after one of its courts took them through a trial.
The court sat in Kamsuma, Lowe Jubba. On Saturday, it delivered a verdict finding them guilty and deserving of the death penalty.
They were killed in public by a firing squad. The court examined the evidence provided and determined the three men guilty as charged.
The men accused of spying for Kenya and Somalia against the militia group, were subject to proceedings in a hearing that was held hurriedly.
The court sat in front of local residents.
Al-Shabaab is notorious for forcing locals to not only gather but also witness similar court proceedings. More than that, they expect the residents to be available at the execution too.
That way Al-Shabaab hopes to discourage other members or local residents who may be considering similar moves.
The identities of the executed men were revealed. They are Falir Yarow Ali, Hussein Mohamed Arsal, and Muse Hussein Siyad. They are aged 75, 20, and 31 years respectively.
