Al-Shabaab has attacked a base that Somali National Army uses in Awdheegle, Lower Shabelle. Two soldiers were killed during the attack.
Several other soldiers were injured too. One soldier received serious injuries.
Al-Shabaab has already claimed responsibility for the attack. The militia posted a statement on the Internet saying they ambushed, injured, and killed FGS forces in Awdheegle District.
The Al-Qaeda linked extremist group has carried out multiple attacks in Somalia and the Horn of Africa region since 2012.
The attacks and bombings have destroyed property, injured, maimed, and killed many Somalis in the country.
It has also attacked several army bases in the Lower Shabelle region, which is now under the control of the Somali National Army.
