Al-Shabaab’s leader in Somalia has claimed that an Al-Qaeda leader who was presumed dead is still alive.
According to Ahmed Omar Diriye Abu Ubaidah, Al-Shabaab’s leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri is not dead.
Ubaidah made this stunning revelation in a recently released audio clip.
In the audio clip, Ubaidah suggests that Al-Zawahiri is still alive contrary to reports that he died in October 2020.
Late last year, reports appeared online suggesting that Al-Zawahiri lost his life after developing a health condition that eventually proved fatal.
Al-Shabaab is presumed to be an affiliate of Al-Qaeda.
