Al-Shabaab Lose Strategic Town to SNA

Al-Shabaab has lost a strategic town to Somali National Army (SNA) forces.

A combined force of SNA, regional troops, and local militia carried out a successful military operation at Harardhere on Sunday.

They snatched the town from the hands of Al-Shabaab antagonists.

Furthermore, they also recaptured Galcad, a nearby town during the weekend operation.

Initially, Harardhere used to be a hub from which the notorious Somali pirates operated before Al-Shabaab militants drove them out of town.

Harardhere has grown into the largest base of Al-Shabaab’s operations since 2010.

Al-Shabaab fighters fled from the town when the joint forces arrived at Harardhere on Sunday. Reports indicate that they are hiding in some nearby rural villages.
