An Al-Shabaab militant has surrendered to Somali National Army (SNA) troops in Baidoa.
Ibrahim Moalim Yusuf gave himself up to the government troops in Baidoa on Tuesday, August 2.
While surrendering, Yusuf said that he no longer wants to be part of Al-Shabaab.
Specifically, he cited the “violent and extremist ideology” that Al-Shabaab propagates as his reason for leaving the group.
Further, he faulted Al-Shabaab for its brutal actions against Somalis in the country.
