Al-Shabaab militants attacked a military base in Puntland on the morning of March 27.
The Sunday morning attack took place in Af-urur village, which is roughly 70kms to the west of Bosaso.
According to witnesses, the militants attacked the base then took off with military vehicles, weapons, and ammunition.
All the military equipment was the property of Puntland Security Forces (PSF).
Residents say that it’s still possible to hear sporadic gunfire this moment.
The militants have repeatedly attacked Af-urur military base over the years. The worst attack took place in 2017 when they killed dozens of soldiers.
