Al-Shabaab extremists attacked military bases belonging to the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) and Jubbaland Regional Forces.
The extremists raided the bases on Tuesday, November 17.
According to local sources, the attack took place in two towns in the Lower Jubba region. The towns are Qoqani and Abdalla-Birole.
Locals said that they witnessed the incident, which involved heavy gunfire between the extremists and the military.
The region is renowned for intense clashes involving the military and the extremists.
