Al-Shabaab fighters shot and killed a leading elder in Mogadishu on December 26.
Reports from the nation’s capital said that the militants killed Moalim Abdi Siad Gedi in Deynile, Mogadishu.
Several sources confirmed that Gedi is a former electorate delegate.
While serving as an electorate delegate, he participated in the election of several current serving Members of Parliament (MPs).
