Al-Shabaab Take Control of a Town in Mudug Region

Al-Shabaab militants took control of a town in Mudug region on Monday, November 30.

Security sources confirmed that Al-Shabaab militants moved into Ba’adweyne and clashed with Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers.

They rocked the area with rockets, gunfire, and massive explosions for several hours until they corned government soldiers.

The area hosts the bases of the SNA 21st Brigade.

Representatives of the military are yet to issue any statement or comment on the matter that is likely to call into question government’s ability to fend off such attacks from the militia group.
