Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked a military base in the Gedo region.
Reports from the region indicate that terrorists attacked Geriley on Tuesday evening.
Officials and local residents confirmed the incident to members of the press.
Interestingly, they attacked the military base that is now in the hands of the Somali National Army (SNA).
Somali military took over control of the base from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) only last week.
ATMIS handed it to SNA as part of its drawdown from the East African nation.
It’s not clear whether anyone was killed or injured in yesterday’s attack.
