Somali National Army (SNA) arrested an intelligence officer working for Al-Shabaab in Lower Shabelle.
A security operation the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) organized led to the capture of an operative known as Hassan Suley.
SNA troops carried out the operation in Janale and the surrounding areas on Saturday. At the time of arrest, Suley was in the company of two other militias.
Brig. Abdihamid Mohamed Dirir, Commander of SNA’s Land Forces, said the military launched several tactical operations in the area.
The operation followed a report by a resident that he had sighted militias in the area. Brig. Dirir hailed the relationship between the military and the local resident for the officer’s arrest.
