All Public Institutions in Somalia Instructed to Use Treasury Single Account

The Somali government has directed all public institutions to use the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for managing their finances.

The Council of Ministers issued these instructions during its weekly meeting held on Thursday.

This decision is part of broader efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public financial management.

TSA is a unified structure that consolidates all government cash resources into a single account or a set of linked accounts managed by the central bank.

By using the TSA, the government aims to improve cash management, reduce borrowing costs, and ensure better control over public funds, thereby curbing corruption and financial mismanagement.

This move aligns with ongoing financial reforms aimed at strengthening Somalia’s fiscal stability and governance.
