Ambassador Richard H. Riley and Major General Brian Cashman of the United States met with Somaliland President-elect Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro in Hargeisa on Tuesday.
They then congratulating both Irro and outgoing President Muse Bihi on Somaliland’s recent peaceful and democratic election, which was held on November 13.
The discussions centered on promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Horn of Africa, reflecting the U.S. commitment to supporting democratic processes and regional cooperation.
