Ambassador Foster Calls for Swift Conclusion of Electoral Process for Somalia’s Stability

Kate Foster, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia, has called for a swift conclusion of the electoral process in the East African nation.

Ambassador Foster released a statement on the ongoing situation in Somalia on April 27.

She spoke on the day when Lower House legislators are scheduled to elect their new Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Ambassador Foster believes that Somalia’s stability and security are inherently hinged on the swift conclusion of the electoral process.

Thus far, Somalia has concluded elections of Lower House and Upper House legislators.

Further, the country’s Senators elected their Speaker and Deputy Speakers on Tuesday.

Once the Lower House concludes elections of its new leadership, both chambers of the federal parliament would then elect the country’s new president.
