Ambassador Foster Commends Somalia for Joining UN Convention Against Corruption

Kate Foster, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia, has commended the East African nation for joining the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

On August 19, Ambassador Foster expressed her pleasure at Somalia for becoming the 188th country to sign the convention.

Her comments followed the recent announcement that President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s administration had established the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Ambassador Foster hailed Farmaajo’s government for this “important step.”

In her words, this move is important for enhancing the governance reforms that Farmaajo and other senior Somali government leaders have been pursuing.

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has made several efforts aimed at tackling corruption.
