Kate Foster, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia, has appealed for more attention from the international community towards the ongoing drought in the country.
Ambassador Foster spoke after reading the report from the United Nations on the impact of the ongoing drought on young children.
According to the UN, close to 350,000 Somali children in the country could die from starvation and famine.
The UN stated that the international community must scale up humanitarian response in the country to forestall what could be a catastrophe.
She hailed the UN for the powerful reporting on the situation in Somalia.
