Ambassador Gamal M. Hassan discussed the operations of the World Food Program (WFP) in Somalia with the organization’s Country Director on August 14.
Gamal and Cesar Arroyo, WFP’s Country Director for Somalia, held the discussions when they met in Mogadishu on Saturday.
Arroyo had paid a courtesy call on Gamal, who is Somalia’s Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development.
Further, they also delved into discussions around the forthcoming WFP Country Strategic Plan.
WFP runs plenty of programs in the East African nation.
In 2020, the global organization reached over 4.5 million people in Somalia with different programs, which included cash-based transfers of up to US$98.7 million.
