Ambassador Hagi Appointed Somaliland Representative to Taiwan

President Musa Bihi Abdi has appointed Ambassador Mohamed Hagi the country’s first Somaliland Representative to Taiwan.

The appointment comes during a week when the governments of the two nations have ramped up diplomatic relations.

Hagi is a highly experienced public servant.

He has served in various fields that include diplomacy and academia. Furthermore, he also boasts of experience in formulating policy-making programs.

Prior to his newest appointment, Hagi also offered considerable input in developing strategic systems of governance.

Hagi holds a PhD in Politics and Philosophy, which he obtained from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Earlier this week, Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Wu, announced that the two nations would be setting up representative offices in each respective nation.
