Ambassador Yamamoto Welcomes Incoming President Biden

The United States Embassy in Somalia has sent out a congratulatory message to the incoming President Joe Biden.

The Embassy welcomed President Biden through Donald Yamamoto, the US Ambassador to Somalia.

On January 20, the Embassy issued a statement hailing Biden’s “immense experience in public service and foreign policy.”

In its statement, the Embassy commended the incredible service that Biden had offered the country as a Senator and Vice President.

Biden served as Vice President under President Barrack Obama from 2008-2016.

On Wednesday, the 78-year old Biden takes office as the President of the United States.

The incoming President defeated outgoing President Donald Trump in last year’s presidential elections.

Trump has not only refused to concede defeat but also vowed not to attend today’s inauguration. Vice President Mike Pence has however promised to be at the inauguration.
