African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) teamed up with officers from the Somali Police Force (SPF) to provide security during elections for Somaliland lawmakers.
The elections took place on Tuesday, January 25 in Mogadishu.
Delegates were in the nation’s capital to elect new House of the People (Lower House) lawmakers.
AMISOM is part of Somalia’s National Elections Security Taskforce.
SPF chairs the taskforce on national elections security.
Officers from AMISOM and SPF formed a cordon around General Kahiye Police Academy in the nation’s capital.
Delegates used General Kahiye Police Academy as a polling center.
